Molecular Formula: C50H68N14O10 Molecular Weight: 1025.2Sequence: Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH
Appearance: White Freeze-dried powder HPLC Purity: 99.5-99.8% Bacterial Endotoxins: Less than 5 EU/mg of PT-141 (Bremelanotide) StorageFreeze-dried powder can be stored at -20 degree C for over a year. Reconstituted solution should be kept in the refrigerator at 2-8 degree C and used as early as possible. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles and exposure to frequent for lyophilized powder or reconstituted vials. Research ProfilePT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a cyclic hepta-peptide lactam analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) that activates the melanocortin receptors MC3-R and MC4-R in the central nervous system.
PT-141 (Bremelanotide) dramatically and selectively increased measures of solicitation in female rats, without altering pacing or lordosis, following both peripheral (subcutaneous) administration or infusions directly into the lateral ventricles or medial preoptic area (mPOA), but not the ventromedial hypothalamus. PT141 (Bremelanotide) did not cause generalized motor activation, nor did it affect the perception of sexual reward. A selective pharmacological effect on appetitive sexual behavior in female rats has not been reported previously, and indicates that central melanocortin systems are important in the regulation of female sexual desire. PT141 (Bremelanotide) has a half-life of about two hours in rats, significantly longer than the 5 minute half-life of the endogenous molecule a-MSH. |
